If you’re interested in seeing what you get after you clear Criminal Investigations, I’ve attached a copy of the letter that I like to call a “Ticket to Philadelphia.”
This letter means you were accepted into the voluntary disclosure program and your file will now go to the regular civil audit. Originally the civil audits were to be held in Philadelphia; now they’re being dispersed across different offices.
Read it and weep. Funny how the IRS can make good news sound like bad news, right?
But this is just the way that Criminal Investigations wishes you “Vaya con Dios”. All will be well if you tell the truth throughout the process. Conversely, you might be visiting with the fine folks at Criminal Investigations if you get caught out in a lie.
